Short Ghost Story – Hungry Kitchen Ghost

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Author’s Note : Remember my friend that had a bad experience with a vengeful ghost? Here’s another short ghost story she relayed to me that happened in her house

I did mention to you before that I’m scared of all things ghosts and supernatural right? Well, there’s a reason to it you know. Things like these often like to disturb me. I have no idea why but people often tell me it’s because my heart is not strong enough. It would have easily attracted them because of this. I’m so scared I can’t even cook instant noodles for my husband late at night alone in the kitchen. That was exactly what happened

It was about 1am in the morning. You know how it is watching football in the middle of the night. My husband and I were upstairs with our kids. My kids were, of course, already fast asleep. My husband was watching football and I was reading some books when my husband decided that he was hungry and urged me to cook instant noodles. At first, I was afraid but after some reassurance from him I reluctantly head downstairs to the kitchen to cook.

While cooking the noodles, I suddenly had a bad feeling. It was the same bad feeling I had every time when something supernatural is nearby. I was quite scared at that time and decided to quickly cook everything and leave when suddenly I felt something brushing my hair. It wasn’t that occasional wind brush but it felt like someone was playing with my long hair. I turned around half expecting my husband there but no one was there. Scared to death, I quickly turned off the stove ran upstairs to my husband ditching the half cooked noodles behind.

From that day on, I dared not venture to the kitchen or even downstairs on my own in the night even if it’s only for a moment. If my husband decides for some midnight snacking, he would always be next to me while I prepare the food.

I am from a small town in Perak and this has happened twice in at my house. The first incident was encountered by my second sister and second incident by my older brother. Both the incidents happened with a few years gap apart.Back when I was just about 11 years old, I do not own a pair of tracksuit so I often ask from my second sister (who is 6 years older than I am) to borrow me one. She would usually be really reluctant and of course, very pissed at the concept of having to share it with.

The first curious incident happened at this one night when I asked to borrow the tracksuit from her while she was half-asleep. You see, she shares the same room with my eldest sister back then. At around 11pm, I went to her room and asked to borrow her tracksuit. Her back was facing me at that time and she went on grumbling, “Yalah, yalah go take it lah!! Don’t kacau me sleeping!!!” So I took it from her cupboard and went to sleep myself.

Horrifying Incident at House in SS2, Petaling Jaya

Here is another creepy experience I had during my college time. I remembered this incident like it just happened a few days ago.

It was in 1992 when me and another 2 of my hometown buddies (Yong & Melvin) came down to PJ together to study at one of the colleges near SS2. We found a fully furnish house for rent (it was located just behind the fire station in SS2 facing a small field/playground). Since it was really cheap and near to our college, we took it up and moved in immediately. There were 3 rooms upstairs and one room downstairs near to the kitchen. Melvin took the one room for himself where as me and Yong thought of sharing the room and the other smaller room. Since we only used 2 of the rooms, we decided to rent out the rest of the remaining rooms to minimize our expenditure.
Within the same month all the rooms were taken up. There was 2 girls from Kuching studying in a different college (Carmen and Shian) took up the master bedroom upstairs and the room downstairs was taken up by a working adult (Chan) from Penang who only came to stay when he comes to KL on and off for his work duties. Everything seemed normal for the first few months as everyone were busy with college and studies. In fact, we hardly meet each other in the house except for the 3 of us whom we stick together like a glue all the time. We took the same course and we went to the college the same time and even returned home the same time except for Yong who got a temporary part time job and would always rush off from the house when we got home together. Sometimes during the weekends, me and Melvin would go back to our hometown except for Yong who works during the weekends. However, after a few months, everyone in the house became quite close and we would go for dinner and study together in the hall until late in the night.
