Hearing | Spooky Corner - Part 24

Author’s note : University Teknologi Mara, Malaysia also known as UITM holds a lot of students yearly. Unknown to public, UITM also holds another side of the story for education. The otherside that is majority unknown to public. For those students that have graduated there, some swore that their stories are true. Here are some that a close friend of mine experienced.

I would not have believed in any of the stories my friends tell in the middle of the night until I’ve personally experienced it before. Many time, you would asked? Not really but enough to ensure that believe in their existance.

You see, there was this once when it was late. After band practice at about 11pm, all my room mates were already asleep. I crept quietly into the room to ensure that I had not awaken anyone. Since it would be insensitive of me to turn on the lights, I just crept around in the dark. You may wonder how could I see in the dark? Well, the truth was my bed was situated near the windows the nearest to the dorm’s door so the floating lights streaming into my room helped me to get a better sight of things. I got myself changed and prepared to lay asleep when I saw a white shadow passed the window. Assuming it was just my imagination, I did not bother. But when the second time the shadow passed outside my window again, I thought twice. It could have been anything, perhaps a bird? But that was first encounter with the extra-terrestrial.

Author’s note : Have you ever heard of ghost stories told by someone who happened to someone they know of? Its funny to think that most tourists spots or attractions have their share of rumoured hauntings? Like Port Dickson, Malacca, Genting Highlands, Cameron Highlands and even Penang especiall Penang Bridge? Perhaps the more the merrier? Wait until you read about my friend’s experience at Pangkor Island!

Sunny Boy and a group of his friends of about 12 people went to Pangkor Island for their holiday destination. Exactly when this happened, I do not know. What I remembered was Sunny Boy’s look and trembling voice when he related this incident to me.

It was late at night, approximately about 10 p.m plus, when he and his group of friends decided to take their rented motorbike up to the hills. It was said that up above this hill, there was a lighthouse. This lighthouse could oversee the scenery of the whole Pangkor Island and its nearby Lumut town. How beautiful the scenery was, Sunny Boy never came to see. Why? Because along the hilly road, they met an accident.

It started out that one of his friend’s motorbike crashed into the road divider. Thinking that perhaps his friend was pulling pranks, the group continued on the journey. Afterall, it was a minor collision. Then as sudden as it started, another two of the motorbikes that 4 of his friends were riding on collided with each other. Once again, everyone thought that it was malfunction in the motorbikes. They even inspected the bikes on the dark road with only the streets light but could not find any clues why the motorbikes lost control. Perhaps it was something more serious. They continued their journey up.

Note : This following story happened to a boy student living in a very well known hostel in Malaysia.

Ahmad** lived in the hostel for almost 5 years. Studying there together with his friends has become a part of a life that is only known to him. In the many years studying, there was one place that he never stepped his foot on. That, was the toilet nearest to his dorm. It was rumour to be haunted. The rumour was so intense that everyone was afraid to go near the place.

His dorm-mates tradition was if they wanted to go toilet, they would most probably use the one further away from their dorm. In order to avoid waking in the middle of the night in need, everyone would avoid drinking too much water before bedtime.

That one night, Ahmad suddenly woke up in the middle of the night in desperate need to go to the loo. Because of fear, he woke one of his roommate to asked if he would accompany him. However, his efforts fail because his roommate was deep fast asleep. In desperation, he got down the building. Passing by the rumoured haunted toilet, he dare not enter due to fear. But after a few steps, his felt as if his bladder could not wait any longer. The nearest toilet would be some 2 blocks away and if he managed to get there, it would probably be too late.
