Taman Desa Hospital Ghost Story

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

Author’s Note : My friend met an accident a few years back and was hurt on his backbone. Because the injury sustained was quiet serious, he was forced to stay at the Taman Desa hospital, Kuala Lumpur.Doctors there advised him to stay in the bed for almost a year not allowing him to move around for fear might cause further damage. Within the one year he stayed at the Taman Desa hospital, he could hear mysterious noises and even see mysterious people appearing by his bedside. Here’s what he has to say :

People always say that hospital happens to be one of the most haunted places on earth. Most probably, its due to the number of deaths occured in one place more than anywhere. During the period I stayed in Taman Desa Hospital, I was haunted by mysterious noises and people. Actually, I never realized that there were ghosts lurking along the hospital corridors. Every night, I could hear children playing and laughing just outside the lobby the floor I stayed in but I did not suspect anything although it did occur to me before why weren’t the nurses bothered by the children who should be at bed in the late hours.

Anyone that stays in Malaysia, particularly Kuala Lumpur particularly Petaling Jaya and more exact near to Jalan 222 or road 222 will notice that there are a lot of office buildings and factories around that area.

One particular building that my friend used to work in at that area was a building called Menara Hino. Menara Hino was a typically normal office buidling except that when as soon as you step into this office building, Menara Hino gives you the chills especially when the night falls.

My great grandma passed away at the age of 96 years old. That, was about 5 – 6 years ago. By now, if she was still alive, she would be celebrating her 100th ++ birthday. I remember back then when I was still young, I used to be a very mischevious kid always curious to know more about ghosts. But because it was a very “pantang” (taboo) thing to talk about in our culture, she never told me a single story. Instead, she would cast a angry look to scare me into keeping quiet. It never really work because I always ask her again the next time. Its funny thinking back that I’ve always loved to hear ghost stories.

It was not until one day she finally gave up. She told me that old ladies or perhaps old people had the ability to see ghosts. It was something she realized when she reached her 60 something year old. At that time, being young, I was horrified and swore not to reach 60, just in case. She only managed to share with me 2 stories, one which I forgot and didn’t understand due to the language barrier she and I shared (she spoke cantonese and at that time, I could only understand very little of it) and the other, well, this was what she experienced.
