Darwin’s Theory of Evolution

Author’s Note : A friend of mine told me an experience she had with Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. What it was, you may ask. Well, it’s better for me to relate this story back to you rather than explain.

Back in the late1990’s when I just entered UITM, I had a life changing experience with Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. It was when it happened that I finally knew perhaps Darwin’s theory was right after all. You see, it was just one evening when me and my roommates were back from the usual evening class. Everyone including myself was in a happy mood because the classes were finally over for the day and it was a time for relaxation. Of course, we chatted our way back and right into the dormitory. I plopped onto my bed as usual and we were all sitting at our own beds listening to one of my roommate telling story. I forgot what it was about as I tried to my best to erase the memories of that day along with the other details.

Anyway, back to the story, I remembered I suddenly blacked out and within seconds, I felt that I was unable to move. I struggled as hard as I could but I remained in the sitting position. I could hear my friend talking clearly and I tried screaming for help but it was no use. Yes, you would probably say that “yeah yeah yeah, we’ve all heard that version before. That’s where you are frozen and can’t move until either someone touches you or that thing releases you” but that was different with my experience from the others was that I SAW something.

The truth was prior to this day, I had my share of “frozen” moments when I would be sleeping and suddenly find myself unable to move. However, nothing had prepared me for what was to come. I saw clearly a shape of a human but a face of a monkey. It immediately struck me as one of those pictures we usually see when explained about Darwin’s theory of evolution. I was frightened. Of course, I tried my hardest to move and scream but the worst part was I could not close my eyes and I was forced to watch that thing. The thing seemed to be dancing some sort of ritual and it was just dancing round and when it came close to me, it showed its face. It was the scariest thing I ever saw. The thing stared at me angrily before he continued around a circle. This happened a few more time and when I could break free, I immediately broke down and cried. I asked my friends why did they not help me when I was screaming my lungs out but they said that they thought I was paying attention to my friend talking because I was not showing any signs that something was wrong. That night, I slept together with one of my roommate.

The following weekend, I immediately left for home. At my hometown, my parents brought me to visit a famous Ustaz. The Ustaz gave some chants and some stuff for protection purposes. According to the Ustaz, that area used to be a palm oil plantation and that by cutting down the plantation and building a college there, we have disturbed that thing’s resting place. Because of this, the thing was angry (which was the reason why I saw its angry face) and wanted to express its anger by disturbing the people there and I was unfortunately one of them.

It took me a long time to try to forget the incident and even now, I’m too afraid to watch horror movies or alone at home.

  5. Leia Says:

What is Darwin`s theory of evolution?I have never heard of that.

  6. SpookyMulder Says:

Leia : it is just a theory. dunit to know it 🙂

What you have experienced may probably due to a medical condition named ‘Sleep Paralysis’. Sometimes hallucinations may also be experienced. I don’t think it’s caused by an angry spirit. Your Ustaz was wrong to pin the blame on ‘spirits’ as he has no means to verify it unless he had special ‘powers’ which in turn is very ungodly.

planet69, but this girl is not even sleeping! She was widely awake and could hear her friend talking and laughing when at the same time this thing was disturbing her.

  9. planet69 Says:

It could be that she was at the onset of sleeping. Didn’t read anywhere she was attentive and not tired and sleepy. Sounds more like hallucinating rather than a haunting.
Anyway, more research on ‘Sleep Paralysis’ will coax you to adopt a ‘logical’ explanation to her experience.

    Ice Queen, are you chinese?

  11. hardcoreghost Says:

i guess the writer can differentiate sleep paralysis and the one shes experiencing rite ???

  12. zaza Says:

Darwin theory is BS (-_-). Author, if you’re Muslim (which I assume you are since you said you were seeing an Ustaz), it’s a big sin to believe in Darwinism. It clearly stated in the Quran that Prophet Adam a.s. was the first human and He wore clothes and can talk. So how can we be evolved from apes?

I also agree with planet69. What you experienced was probably sleep paralysis and hallucinations. Happened to me before. Just got back from a three-day camping trip and I was tired like hell. Then when I was on my bed, suddenly I couldn’t move. Then I saw this creature like one of those Balinese Gods jumping on my ceiling. It scared me to death. But then my uncle (who was a psychologist) said it was sleep paralysis and hallucinations.

Zaza, dun b mistaken, my fren does not believe in Darwin’s theory (she’s a strong Muslim if u ask me),she merely saying she saw something tat looked like wat Darwin described. In fact, Darwin’s theory has already long been debunked by modern scientist. The little of this story just came to my mind while she told me abt it 🙂

All I can say is yr fren has watched too much planet of the apes movies and u being an ape aptly believed her.

For the benefit of Leia, Darwin’s Theory of Evolution is the widely held notion that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor: the birds and the bananas, the fishes and the flowers — all related. Darwin’s general theory presumes the development of life from non-life and stresses a purely naturalistic (undirected) “descent with modification”. That is, complex creatures evolve from more simplistic ancestors naturally over time. In a nutshell, as random genetic mutations occur within an organism’s genetic code, the beneficial mutations are preserved because they aid survival — a process known as “natural selection.” These beneficial mutations are passed on to the next generation. Over time, beneficial mutations accumulate and the result is an entirely different organism (not just a variation of the original, but an entirely different creature). Good that you ask but in future, please find out on yr own. That’s what an internet is for in the 1st place.
