The Ghost Next Door

This second story I’d like to share is an experience when I was renting a house in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. Anyone who is from Shah Alam knows that the old Seksyen 7 where the Shell gas station is located is quite famous for a couple of haunted houses. This story is about one of them.

The house next to ours had been vacant for a long time. According to the landlord, nobody had ever lived there ever since it was built. It was rumored that some people who were jealous of the house owner had sent ‘things’ to haunt the house, making it unlivable.

After about a year living next to the house, one day we saw that the owner of the house suddenly came to clean up the place. He had the grass cut and a team of cleaners to clean the house, so we thought someone was going to finally move in. but after a week or two, nobody came back.

One night, me and my roommate A was talking in our room. My other roommate B was fast asleep on her bed. Our room was the master bedroom and it’s right next to the staircase. The staircase, meanwhile, is against the wall of the neighbor’s staircase so only the thin wall is separating our staircase from theirs. My bed was against the wall next to the staircase and the door was open that night. A’s bed was in the middle while B’s bed was at the end.

Anyway, that night, I suddenly heard the sound of someone dragging a cooking gas container up the stairs next door. It was very clear because the wall was quite thin. Thinking nothing of it, I said to A, “Oh, someone has moved in next door. I can hear someone dragging a ‘tong gas’ up the stairs.” It didn’t strike me as odd that: 1) It was late at night and 2) why would someone drag a gas container upstairs? The kitchen is downstairs.

That night, I was suddenly woken up by a very loud breathing noise coming from the direction of A’s bed. I didn’t bother saying anything since she occasionally snored so I just pulled the covers over my head and went back to sleep. Sometime later, I woke again to feel something weird on my back. I was sleeping on my side and it felt like ‘something’ was clinging to my back. I can’t describe the sensation well but it was definitely wasn’t anything solid. The closest thing I can liken it to is a sort-of gel substance, not quite solid but not invisible either.
I could feel two hands gripping my shoulders and the thing sticking all over my back down to the back of my feet. I’ve experienced ghosts sitting on me (happened quite a lot when I was in secondary school) but this is the first time this kind of thing happened to me! So I did what I usually do whenever I was being disturbed by spirits. I ignored it and went back to sleep.

The next morning, I told A what happened and she had almost the same thing happened to her. She also heard heavy breathing from the direction of my bed and thought I was snoring. But then, she could feel a big hairy hand suddenly touching her arm. She was scared and didn’t dare move. Eventually, the hand went away and she was unable to sleep until morning.

When B heard of this, she scolded us for being silly. According to her, the sound of someone dragging a cooking gas container in an empty house is a sign that someone had sent things to haunt the house. So when we made a comment about it that night, the thing knew that we had noticed it and came to haunt us instead.

I guess, since I was the one who first made that comment, the thing chose to embrace me while A only got off with a little touching.

I didn’t know about the tong gas thing either. But B’s next door neighbour was a bomoh and he was the one who told her that.

Pisang, actually it’s not so odd. It could be because of jealousy or long-standing animosity but some people will send ‘things’ to haunt their enemy’s house, making the house unliveable. Thus, the owner will have to incur loss since after spending money on the house, it turns out that it’s not habitable.

Its just a case of two girls having a wet dream but the dream became nasty. Next time, don’t dream, Just do it (like Nike).
