Reincarnated Souls

Chinese believed that one does not know when they pass away until the 7th day that they wonder around the earth. By the 7th day before crossing to the other realm, the deceased would visit their loved ones for the last time. On that day, the living loved ones would prepare the deceased favourite dishes, set on the tables. They would also retire to bed early for fear that if their loved one’s spirit were to try coming back, the living might accidently bum into the spirit or scare the spirit away.

Below are a series of reincarnated souls stories that I’ve collected from friends that have personally experienced something supernatural

1. Front Door banging
It was already late when I was walking upstairs towards my bedroom. According to beliefs and tradition, we were all suppose to go to bed early so my just deceased grandfather in law could come back and visit us for the last time. My husband was already fast asleep, as soon as I reached the door knob to my bedroom, I suddenly heard someone banging the main door of my house. Frankly, I was kind of surprised because everyone was already fast asleep or perhaps pretending to be fast asleep. Perhaps I was hearing things because it had been a tiring day. All the cooking and preparing dishes kept me busy the whole day. Then, the banging came again. This time, I was sure of the noise. I walked down the flight of stairs towards the ground floor when I saw my maid coming out from her room.

Deep down inside, I felt a familiar kind of feeling when I heard the noise. It reminded me of my grandfather in law when he forgot to bring his house keys. Who could it have been so late anyway? My maid ran out to the door and opened. I was just standing above the flight of stairs but I could clearly see that there was no one around. Quickly closing the door behind her, my maid and I went back into our own rooms and said nothing of it until the next day. It just confirms what the beliefs of old Chinese traditions say about reincarnated souls.

2. My Baby crying
They always say that little kids could see things that us adults could not. Because they were too young to talk, they could not relate what they saw to us. Something peculiar happen on the 7th day after my mother passed away. It was late so everyone of us (my brothers and sisters) including my family prepared for bed. After sometime of deep sleep, my child of 9 months started crying in the middle of the night. My wife and I woke up to see my daughter sitting up crying and crying. We both asked her what was bothering her but she just kept on crying. I picked her up and soothe her but it did not work. In the end, my wife and I asked her again what was wrong and she pointed to one corner of the room crying. We both glanced at that corner only to see nothing. But the whole time my daughter still kept crying and pointing at the same corner. After cooing her to sleep and putting a pillow over her eye only did she quiet down and slept quietly.

Me and my wife did not know what to say but my daughter definately saw something that both of us could not see. Perhaps she saw my mother but could not recognize her

I do believe it. My bro heard someone pulling the chair at dinning room in the mid night after my grandfather passed away.

For myself, I heard someone was walking by my side during the 7th day of my grandmother passed away.

Although this post is so very old, I just would like to say that I believe young children or kids can see ‘things’ that some of us dont. This happened to two of my baby cousins who were aged around 3 yrs old.

We were having a gathering in my grandma’s hse during the Hungry Ghost Festival. All my uncles, aunties and cousins had just returned from visiting my grandpa’s and other relative’s graves (to pay respects and all). When we were all watching a movie in the hall, my cousin – Desmond started crying while pointing towards the staircase. When we heard him crying and saw him pointing towards the stairs, my other cousin – Jason shouted out loud “Ah Yeh!” and pointed the same direction! Instantly, we realised that something was amidst and they saw something.

The funny thing is my grandpa died many years ago before Desmond or Jason was born. When we asked Jason how he knows it was ‘Ah Yeh’ (grandpa)…he pointed at a family photograph with my grandpa in it. He said that is the man he saw and the man was smiling to them and asking Desmond and him to go over. As strange as it sounds, both my cousins shared similar stories of what they saw…both kept pointing at the picture of my grandpa..indicating that was the person they saw.

I rarely drop remarks, however i did a few searching and wound up here Reincarnated Souls – Spooky Corner. And I actually do have 2 questions for you if you don’t mind. Could it be just me or does it seem like a few of the comments appear like coming from brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are posting at additional places, I’d like to keep up with anything new you have to post.
