Most Haunted Places in Japan

January 1st, 2009

I was browsing through some of the horror sites when I saw this and thought that its worth sharing other parts of Asia’s most haunted places, Japan

  • Atsugi Naval Air Base – BEQ 985 – The spirit of a young man is often seen wandering from room to room. He is believed to be the ghost of a marine that was killed in a car accident in the 1960’s.
  • Hiroshima – Its not a wander as it was a nuclear bomb site during the WW2 . It is said that the souls of the nuclear bomb victims at the end of World War 2 haunt the area. There were voices, pleading for help, crying and screams can be heard around twilight. It is also said that some of those souls sometimes lurk in the shadows of the living. Perhaps unknown if they are dead or alive
  • Iwakuni – Barracks 1687 Room 301 – A Marine living in that room a few years ago committed suicide. In a drunken rage, the Devil Dog broke the mirror in his room and slit his wrists with the broken pieces. From Marines checking in and out of that room since then, late at night if you look at the mirror you can see a Marine staring at you from the mirror.
  • Kanagawa Prefecture (field hospital) – The hospital is an old field hospital located on a military base by the name of Sagami Depot. There have been reports of noises and individuals walking around in the hospital. The building is seldom used but at night when security checks on it they often find a windows raised or a door that ha been locked previously unlocked. The Military police usually have a new soldier go there to conduct checks his first night on the job. Many have reported hearing some one walking around inside. The Japanese have experienced the same.

8th Floor at Jalan Changkat Raja Chulan

December 3rd, 2008

Note : This is not really a horror story but more of a weird stuff that could have happen to you. Its still something puzzling for my friend until today.

My friend, James works in an office building on the 18th floor located at Jalan Changkat Raja Chulan for almost 6 months. Already since the day he joined the company, he has heard many rumours of the haunted 8th floor which happens to be unoccupied for many years. Everyday, he would take the elevators to work but nothing weird or mysterious happened. That was, until one particular night when he left for home at about 7pm on the month of the hungry ghost festival. As usual, he pressed the elevators button to the lobby for and the elevator started moving down towards the lobby level. Suddenly, the elevator stopped at the 8th floor and the doors opened. After a few seconds, it closed and proceed down to lobby. James did not suspect anything although he felt that it was a strange thing to happen since the whole floor was totally unoccupied. He dismissed it as a weird incident and thought nothing much of it.

Haunted House in Cheras

November 9th, 2008

Me and my colleague was baffled when we suddenly find it hard to contact an associate of ours. It was either Ann was on leave or she just didn’t attend to her call. We left her messages but she did not return any of them. It was actually quite puzzling as Ann wasn’t the kind of girl that would disappear without informing anyone. It was only a few weeks later that I found out from another colleague of mine that Ann was in the midst of moving to a new house because her old house was haunted. A few days later after that, I checked if she was okay and she related to me that she had recently rented a haunted house in Cheras.

Ann told me that she, her boyfriend and her other 2 housemates only managed to stay there for about one and a half months before they were too scared and moved out. Previously Ann and her boyfriend did not believe in ghosts and throughout the conversation, she kept on repeating to me that its really hard not to believe when faced with that sort of situation. I asked her when did she start to realize that there was something wrong with her house and she told me that it was only a few days after they moved in. You see, one of her housemate owns a Beagle dog and without fail, the Beagle would cry every night around 3 or 4 in the morning and the cries would wake her up. I prompt that Ann must be a really light sleeper but Ann insisted that she is quite a heavy sleeper and she also didn’t know why she would suddenly wake up around that time.
