Spooky Corner

Dear Readers,

Another year has passed and Hungry Ghost Festival has arrived upon us once again. As much as Chinese celebrates this Hungry Ghost month 2010, Spookycorner will continue on with our own ritual which would be a long month break until the month has passed. This year, Hungry Ghost Festival happens to fall on the 10th August 2010.

Looking back, Spookycorner has been around for close to 4 years and as much as I loved sharing (and thanks to some faithful readers like Pisang, Su, Death Shisido, EDC Roch and many more of you that I can barely list for your contributions) these horrifying stories, I hope Spookycorner has served its purpose to entertain and spooked much of you people out there. However, it has been in my mind the recent weeks to decide on either stop updating Spookycorner completely or be on hiatus (probably for 6 – 12 months period).

Reason being, after so much of hearing ghost stories, the truth is I tend to spook myself silly.

I would, of course, love to hear from all of you in regards to this decision as after all, Spookycorner is all about you! So do let me know what you think

My friend encountered a ghost one time in Cyberjaya. It was roughly about 3 years ago. My friend and his other friends were heading back to their hostel in the motorcycles around midnight when it happened. It was a long road heading to the junction and because it was already midnight by then, it was a road that was pretty much quiet and dark with very little street lights. Along the long stretch of road were trees and empty lands.

I have a story to tell and it goes like this. I live in a Cyberjaya Hostel where I’m currently studying now. The Cyberjaya Hostel haunting took placed last year. A close friend of mine was in his room. It was just a small single room in the Cyberjaya hostel and it happened during the end of the semester where students were leaving the Cyberjaya hostel for holidays. My friend was the only one living on the floor at that time and so happened on that fateful day, his classmate dropped by his room around 9pm to hang out. Leaving the room door unlocked, they both talked and joked for some time enjoying each other’s company. Suddenly, they heard a loud bang. Turning towards the source of the noise, they found that it was the sound of window blinds hitting the glass window. Not surprised, it’s a pretty common noise as it happens all the time when people push the door in quickly.
